One-Visit Crowns

Dr. Vashi takes a 3-dimensional photo of your tooth. Then his computer system analyzes your mouth structure to determine the best shape and dimensions for your new crown, inlay or onlay.
CEREC restorations are milled from a single block of high-quality ceramic, a substance which is particularly compatible with the body and has the same characteristics as normal, healthy dental enamel.
The milling process takes 10 to 12 minutes depending on the size of the replacement tooth. Once the restoration is created, Dr. Vashi bonds it into place and you leave the office with a beautiful, permanent crown.
Are CEREC Crowns Durable?
Yes, in fact, the material of your new crown is even stronger than your natural teeth. CEREC ceramic expands in the same way as teeth do, and also because it comes from a single block, a CEREC restoration is less prone to cracks and flaws than other types of restorations.

One-Visit Onlays and Inlays
Inlays and onlays are a type of filling that are used as a restoration of a broken-down tooth or to replace an existing large filling. In the past, tooth-colored filling material was not durable enough to withstand the tremendous biting forces required by back teeth, which limited cosmetic dentistry to front teeth restorations.
But Dr. Vashi’s CEREC system allows him to create beautiful tooth-colored inlays and onlays both for front and back teeth. CEREC restorations have the same translucence, color and brilliance of your natural healthy teeth.

Before
This patient is in her early 60s. While visiting friends in L.A., she broke her tooth and old metal filling, eating salad.
After
Dr. Vashi was able to repair the tooth and replace the metal filling with a CEREC restoration in a single appointment, so that she could enjoy the rest of her visit.

This patient is a male in his late 40's, very afraid of the dentist. He was in pain because of a failing filling and fracture in his tooth.
